Hydro will give you a softer ride and they are the cheaper.

however i personally have not had good luck with either of those brands.

i prefer Rustys (el cheapo) or the Fox shocks (mucho denero).

I have the Rusty's Hydro and they have been fine. Even the one I had to clearance(ie. Dent) for my rear track bar.
