Postby 87yjforlife » January 12th, 2011, 7:14 pm

My name is Steve I have an 87 yj with a straight 6 Cherokee 4.0 with a 6 inch suspension lift with reverse shackles in the front, and a 1 inch body lift I am having issues with my vacuum assisted 4-wheel drive it keeps going in and out I am not a big fan of the entire bacon system is there anything wlse I can do besides a posi lock system or is that the only fail proof option?

Yep you can install TJ axle shafts in you YJ and lose the vac disconect on the axle . And eliminate the 2 piece long side. Making things much stronger. There kits for this pretty simple install. If your looking for a cheep fix. There's none I know of. My dodge truck also does that. When it sits for a awhile it loses vacuum and disconects
