swaped out the 5 speed for and automatic bought new flex-plate I Have it all put togather and the starter doesnt even come close to the flex-plate. anyone have any ideas. the trans came out of a 88 YJ with the same engine as my 89.

well i show the same size flexplate for 87-90 it measures 13.880 od the stick flywheel shows 13.823 od not sure why u would have any problems

Found out that the 87 YJ year still ran the Ford starter in 88 they switched to the mitsu high torc starters. Another thing I found is on the 87 they where using up the left over CJ parts, even the transmission mount is diffierent on the 87
